Football and padel came together on center court at the Allianz Cloud. Ahead of the finals of the Milano Premier Padel P1, The Derby, an exhibition match, featured two football legends, Esteban Cambiasso and Christian Panucci, and two padel World champions, Alex Chozas and Tino Libaak.
Before the match, the two pairs competed in skill challenges. Amid laughter and competitive energy, Cambiasso offered Libaak tips on how to hit the ball to hit the target, jokingly admitting after a mistake: “I missed the last one on purpose to make the challenge more exciting”.
Once the skill tests ended, the real match began: a two-set game on the central court at Allianz Cloud. Cambiasso, a symbol of Inter’s Treble, teamed up with Chozas, while Panucci, a six-time trophy winner with AC Milan, played alongside Libaak, fresh off his world championship victory with Argentina.
The exhibition ended with a win for Cambiasso and Chozas. Attention now shifts to the tournament finals: Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez face Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez, while Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia take on Fede Chingotto and Alejandro Galan. Panucci shared his predictions: “I think Brea and González will win in the women’s final, and Coello and Tapia in the men’s”.
