After two semi-finals lost in a row, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan wanted to return to old habits. The Milano Premier Padel P1 final will be the most eagerly awaited, the one that has pitted the two strongest pairs in the world against each other all season. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan join Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia: it will be them, on Sunday not before 4.30 p.m. who will play for the title at the Allianz Cloud. It will be the 15th time that these four stars will face each other, with the balance leaning on the side of Coello and Tapia (9-5), who have won the last six matches. But the ‘Chingalan’ have won two out of two in Italy: first the final of the Major in Rome, then that of the P2 in Genova, the last defeat of Coello and Tapia in their incredible season, five months ago.
The first set had no history, with Chingotto and Galan able to dominate it (6-1). And the second set also seemed in the hands of the ‘Chingalan’. Down 3-0, however, Martin Di Nenno and Juan Lebron turned on the match, which became beautiful: the number 3 seed recovered the break at 4-3 and tied the set. On 5-4, however, Di Nenno missed an easy smash giving away a match point, immediately converted by Galan.
“Tomorrow we will give our best – said Ale –, we must owe it to the people. There is a special relationship with the Italian fans, we will try to entertain them, hope to win and enjoy it. We will try to change something compared to the last finals with Coello and Tapia, and the fact that we are not favourites is an extra motivation. Me and Juan? There is a special relationship, but I don’t prepare the match differently, also because ma now plays on the left, and we have faced each other several times”. Chingotto believes he could win: “We will try to do everything well. We have studied the game and we know how to play it. We are in a positive moment, I feel good and knowing that the team supports me helps me a lot”.
