If “Freed from Desire” becomes “Paquito is on fire”. Gala: “He lost in Rome and sang my song: what a show.” And now Navarro discovers Milan

Dec. 7 – We just told Gala that “Freed from Desire,” in addition to being an unofficial anthem of world sports, has become the unofficial – but extraordinarily ‘heartfelt’ – soundtrack of the Milano Premier Padel P1 with Paquito Navarro’s extraordinary performance after the final lost in Rome to Juan Lebron and Ale Galan, together with Martin Di Nenno. Paquito danced, sang, while recording it with his phone, dragging 6500 people who got up and danced and sang with him the ‘Padel Premier version’ of Gala’s hit, changed for the occasion into “Paquito is on fire.” The video of Paquito’s celebration, who had also lost the final, smiling, happy, cheerful and ‘positive’ as always impressed Gala, whom we interviewed exclusively for Premier Padel and who also shared the famous video on her Instagram profile (https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl3UFnGKjXw/): “I absolutely love this! So much! And you know why? – started the author and singer of “Freed from Desire” -. Because he lost. Yet he sings, he dances, he drags people along regardless of who they are, sending a crazy message of sharing and positivity! I find it amazing that a great athlete, a professional, makes such a beautiful gesture that should be seen as an example for all of us.”

GALA AND PADEL – Gala is very committed to social work, to the protection of everyone’s rights, to integration and respect for everyone. “Some principles are my life, always have been. And freedom of expression with respect for others is a sacred, fundamental fact. For example: after finally breaking up with my record label in 1998 some time after the release of Freed From Desire, I started a journey that eventually led me to being free and, ten years later, founding my own record company, Matriarchy Records.” Gala has discovered padel and her point of view is interesting: “I read somewhere that the sport was born because someone had a space problem in making a court and eventually made it indoors, smaller, as long as they could play sports, have fun. Here, it’s a beautiful example of overcoming obstacles by drawing on imagination. I believe that sports and music are very similar because they can engage people, bring them together, ignite passion by creating a strong and positive sharing. In any case, I love tennis and now that I’ve discovered padel I’m very intrigued and wouldn’t mind trying….”

THE PROPOSAL – Mixed double with Navarro? “Ah of course I would try playing with him! And maybe we could sing Freed from Desire together at the end of the match! I promise: if we happen to meet somewhere around the world I will ask him to play together!” Gala Rizzatto, a 100% Milanese who lives in New York but travels the world following music, art (she is an extraordinary photographer, among other things), if it were not for the fact that she is in Paris these days, she would have very gladly come to visit us at Allianz Cloud. “To meet Paquito Navarro? Sure, and the other players who made me this privilege of singing my song by taking it to the padel courts. I’ve seen some videos on social and it seems to me that the atmosphere of the event is perfect. All very nice, really, and the fact that the tournament is in my city makes it all the more special.” And today, at Allianz Cloud, Navarro will make his debut in the last match of the morning session. Yes, Paquito himself, the one “on fire.”
