Dec. 7 – It took only 55 minutes for Ale Galan and Juan Lebron to “baptize” Allianz Cloud.
The world number ones were smiling on their debut in the Milano Premier Padel P1, while beating 6-2 6-4 the pair formed by Ricardo Martinez Sanchez and Adria Mercadal and accessing the round of 16, where they will face (tomorrow, in the opening match of the evening session – n.b. 6 pm) Raul Marcos Duran and Ivan Ramirez del Campo, no. 14 seed.
The audience enjoyed the first spells of Galan and Lebron, who are looking for their fourth success of the season in the Premier Padel circuit, after those obtained in Rome (in May at Foro Italico), Paris (Roland Garros) and Madrid, but they also applauded Martinez and Mercadal, who did everything they could to stretch the match as far as possible, until they had, at 5-4 30-40 and at the advantages, two break points to make it even.
“It was important to get off to a good start in this tournament,” said Galan and Lebron, “We will try to make it to the end in this beautiful arena and in front of the Italian fans that we have already met in Rome. We are at the end of the season, but there is no time to rest yet. Thank you, Milan, see you tomorrow.”
