Paquito is immediately “on fire”: good start at Allianz Cloud for Navarro and Tello

Dec. 7 – The “terrible youngsters” tried to mess with Paquito Navarro and Juan “el Gato” Tello’s debut: the No. 2 seed pair of the Milano Premier Padel P1, however, did not disappoint the audience, and access the round of 16 thanks to a 6-4 7-6 win in one hour and 37′ over Spanish babies Edu Alonso and Juanlu Esbri, both born in 2001, real talents. Perhaps surprised by the enthusiasm and unpredictability of their opponents, Navarro and Tello – coming from a surprising elimination in the round of 16 in Mexico – suffered the break in the opening game, only to regain their service in the eighth game after a very hard battle and close 6-4 with a five-game-to-one split. Another break in the fourth game of the second set seemed to have brought the match to its end, but Alonso and Esbri just didn’t want to leave the court, getting back in the ninth game and confirming service in the tenth. The set was then decided in the tiebreak, where Navarro and Tello took the lead right away (4-1) before a couple of slip-ups (4-3) and closing 7-4, which set off the notes of “Freed from Desire” from the Allianz Cloud speakers. For Navarro and Tello, there will be an exciting challenge on Thursday, in the round of 16, against Brazilian Lucas Campagnolo and Spaniard Jon Sanz, ninth seed on the draw, who won in the morning against Jose Luis Gonzalez and Miguel Gonzalez Garcia.
