Final ruiz/bergamini-galan/lebron: kicks off at 5 p.M. Allianz cloud packed, sold out twice this weekend

Milan, Dec. 10, 2022 – Allianz Cloud is ready to elect its kings. Victor Ruiz and Lucas Bergamini on one side, Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron on the other: they will be the protagonists of the Milano Premier Padel P1 final, scheduled tomorrow at 5 p.m. These are the winners of two beautiful semifinals that amazed the 5,000 people who arrived in Milan for the second-to-last day of a week that, regardless of who wins, will remain in the Italian history padel. If for Galan and Lebron, kings of the circuit and world No. 1, it would be the fourth success in the Premier Padel circuit -the second in Italy after Rome in May – it would be the first for Ruiz and Bergamini.

SEMIFINALS Ruiz and Bergamini needed two hours and 35′ to defeat (7-5 2-6 6-3) Paquito Navarro and Juan Tello, already beaten a week ago in the round of 16 at Monterrey Major. The first set, won by the Spaniard and the Brazilian (the latter already Italian champion with CC Aniene) lasted 75 minutes, with Navarro and Tello (2nd seed) bringing home the second and seeming to have changed the balance of the match. But the Spaniard and the Brazilian, who started the tournament as 13th seed, first defeated Stupaczuk/Lima (3) in the round of 16 and then Sanchez/Capra (8) in the quarterfinals, were able to focus again and close the set 6-3. However, the result did not prevent “Paquito is on Fire” song that now follows Navarro in wins and losses. Three sets in the first semifinal, two in the second between Galan/Lebron and Belasteguín/Coello, with the Spaniards taking the lead in the fourth game of both the first and second set, closing 6-2 6-3 a well-managed match in an hour.

SOLD OUT After the huge attendance during the last few days, there is now a ‘sold out’ sign outside the gates of Allianz Cloud. No free seat today: A few tickets were still available until this morning for Saturday’s two fixtures, but the last supply was gone within hours, pulverized. The response of Italian padel enthusiasts has been extraordinary: one has never seen here five thousand people in an arena to watch padel. In Rome, on the day of the Major final, we saw the same on the Grandstand Arena of the Foro Italico: sold out to enjoy the triumph of Galan and Lebron. The same happens here, in Milan, where an extraordinary page of padel is being written.

PRESS CONFERENCE The closing press conference will be held two hours before tomorrow’s final, at 3 p.m., at Casa Padel (area outside of Allianz Cloud), and it will be attended by FIP President Luigi Carraro, Premier Padel board member Ziad Hammoud, Sport e Salute President Vito Cozzoli and Milan City Councilor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy Martina Riva.

HALL OF FAME The winning pair of Milano Premier Padel will write their names on the hall of fame that already includes Navarro/Di Nenno (Doha), Galan/Lebron (Rome, Paris, Madrid), Stupaczuk/Lima (Mendoza, Giza) and Belasteguin/Coello, vincitori una settimana fa a Monterrey.

ON TV Sky Sports will broadcast live – on Sky Sport Tennis channel (205) – the finale, starting at 5 p.m. There will also be live updates and coverage from Allianz Cloud on Sky Sports 24 throughout the day. Milan Premier Padel P1 is the last seasonal stop of the circuit organized by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and supported by the Professional Padel Association (PPA), the entity that brings together professional players, and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI)
