Goodbye Milan, Italy calls: Orsi and Dal Pozzo set their sights on the World Championships in Doha

From the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 to the FIP World Cup in Doha. Carolina Orsi and Giulia Dal Pozzo bow out of the Allianz Cloud in the round of 16, already looking ahead to the most eagerly anticipated and important event on the calendar: the World Championships, which get underway in just over two weeks. For Orsi and Patricia Llaguno, beaten by rising NextGen stars Raquel Eugenio and Jimena Velasco (6-3 7-5), and for Dal Pozzo and Nuria Rodriguez, who went down to Ale Salazar and Aranzazu Osoro (6-4 6-2), Thursday’s defeats have quickly turned into renewed motivation. After all, the focus and determination within the Italian camp are at their highest. Carolina, the first Italian woman to break into the world’s top 30 and a pillar of the national team with nine medals across the World Championships, European Championships, European Games and Mediterranean Games, embodies the spirit of a player who knows how to lead the way. “I really want to keep improving and to be seen as an important player,” says ‘Caro’, whose wealth of international experience will be invaluable to the team.

Alongside her are Giulia Dal Pozzo’s youthful energy and ambition. Now world No. 25, the 20-year-old from Emilia-Romagna is approaching the first anniversary of her debut for Italy and the bronze medal she won at the European Championships. She has established herself as a key figure in the Italian women’s team, embracing the national colours with the enthusiasm and confidence of a top talent. “It’s always an indescribable emotion. Wearing the Italian shirt gives you a truly indescribable feeling. It pushes you to give everything.”

Two generations, with plenty in common. Talent, charisma and a quiet leadership built on solidity and substance. In Doha, on the biggest stage of all, their personalities and shot-making will be crucial weapons for Italy. Milan marks the end of one chapter, but Carolina and Giulia are already looking ahead: Doha awaits, and it’s time to pull on the Italian shirt.
