One thing is certain: there will be at least one more Italian player in the main draw of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1. The opening day of the women’s qualifying rounds sets up a decisive, all-Italian battle: on one side Chiara Pappacena and Emily Stellato, who have already advanced to the second and finalqualifying round; on the other, Giorgia Marchetti, teaming up with France’s Léa Godallier, after a strong performance from start to finish against Alba Pérez and Italy’s Lorena Vano (6-1 6-3). It will be a special match for all three Italian players, who in just a few days will reunite as teammates for the FIP Euro PadelCup Finals 8, where they’ll aim to defend the silver medal Italywon last year at the European Championships in Cagliari.
Meanwhile, two other Italian pairs saw their runs come to an end: Giulia Sussarello and Caterina Baldi, defeated in three sets by the top qualifying seeds Sara Ruiz and Carla Mesa (4-6 6-4 3-6), and Carlotta Casali together with Martina Parmigiani, who fell4-6 6-3 2-6 to Carnicero/Cañellas.
