The premier padel: a new dawn

There are three types of tournaments on the Premier Padel circuit: Major, P1 and P2 category tournaments. They differ in terms of prize money, ranking points, and main draw composition: the Major with €525,000 prize money, 2000 ranking points and 56 pairs in the draw; P1 with €250,000 prize money, 1000 ranking points and 48 pairs in the draw; P2 with €125,000 prize money, 500 ranking points and 32 pairs in the draw.

The flagship Premier Padel circuit is the only one promoted and recognized by the FIP International Padel Federation, supported by Qatar Sports Investments and the PPA Professional Players Association.

The year 2022 was therefore a historic year that ushered in the new era of world padel.

In the inaugural 2022 season, the tour made stops in Qatar (Major Doha, 26 March-3 April), Italy (Major Rome, 21-29 May), France (Major Roland Garros Paris, 9-17 July), Spain (P1 Madrid, 1-6 August), Argentina (P1 Mendoza, 8-14 August), Egypt (P1 Giza, 24-30 October), Mexico (Major Monterrey, 26 November-4 December) and will end its stellar run right in Milan with our Milan Premier Padel P1 from 5-11 December.

Every event on the Premier Padel circuit and all tournaments of the Cupra FIP Tour, award points for the official FIP ranking, led now by Spaniards Ale Galan and Juan Lebron. The ranking is structured on an individual level, with points remaining valid for exactly 12 months before being subtracted from the total, as is the case in tennis.

The International Padel Federation also organizes World Championships and European Championships, both in the Open (professional) category and for juniors and veterans. The competitions take place every two years.
