Sanchez and Josemaria, queens of Milan for the first time: “Winning at the Allianz Cloud is a unique emotion”

Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria are the queens of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1. In a sold-out Allianz Cloud, with an amazing crowd, the two Spanish players – who were also finalists in Italy at the Rome Major last June – defeated Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez 6-2, 6-4.

Ari and Paula had to save two break points in the first game, then pulled ahead in the fourth game and closed the first set 6-2. The second set was more balanced, with Sanchez and Josemaria serving for the match at 5-3 before finally winning 6-4 with another break, coming back from 0-30 in the tenth game.

“Winning such an important tournament is a wonderful feeling,” said Ari. “We really wanted to do well because we know how great it is to play at the Allianz Cloud and how passionate the fans here are.”

For the new queens of Milan, this is their fifth title of the season and their first since last June in Valladolid. “The last few weeks have been very important to find our best version again. We’ve rediscovered the connection and teamwork that define us. We’re a complete pair, and that makes us happy, especially after a difficult period,” – Paula explained after the match -“Even when things weren’t going well, we kept working, trying to give our best, and kept trusting each other.”
