Emotions, spectacular shots, and all the big stars: Milan is once again the world capital of padel. The wait is almost over for the fourth edition of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1, with the Allianz Cloud ready to light up from Monday, October 6 to Sunday, October 12. Today’s draw has decided the road to the final for those who want to write their names in the winners’ list after the “Golden Boys” Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia (winners of the men’s tournament) and Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez, champions of the women’s tournament in 2024.
MEN – The men’s draw, like every P1, includes 48 pairs, with the 16 top seeds starting directly in the second round. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, who are playing today in the semifinals of the P1 of Rotterdam and are already sure to finish the season at the top of the FIP ranking, will face Denis Perino and Nacho Piotto or the brothers Miguel and Nuno Deus. Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan (2) will meet Alvaro Cepero (whom they also faced in the second round last year) and Andres Fernandez or a qualifying pair. David Gala and Alex Chozas or Javi Valdes and Agustin Gutierrez will play against Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebron (3), who are in the same half of the draw as Coello and Tapia. The number 4 seeds Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto will face Teo Zapata and Curro Cabeza or Pol Hernandez and Guillermo Collado. WOMEN – There will be 28 pairs in the women’s draw, with the four top seeds starting from the second round. Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, winners of eight tournaments this year and the top two in the FIP ranking, will start against Melania Merino and Ana Nogueira (their first opponents also last year in Milan) or Jimena Velasco and Raquel Eugenio. Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez will face a qualifying pair or Noa Canovas and Laia Rodriguez. Araceli Martinez and Alix Collombon or Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno will be the first opponents of Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez, the number three seeds who could meet the dominant Triay-Brea duo in the semifinals.
