There’s Henry Mancini — not a player, but the composer and creator of The Pink Panther Theme, the iconic soundtrack of the Pink Panther movie saga starring Peter Sellers. That silky, suspenseful tune fills the Allianz Cloud during the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 every time there’s a VAR call. Alternating with Mancini and his Pink Panther comes another soundtrack that defined a generation, from one of the first hugely popular TV series at the turn of the millennium: The X-Files. The piece is by Mark Snow, and its full title is Materia Primoris: The X-Files Theme. And that’s the VAR part covered.
Then there’s a timeless classic that became a real hit here in Milan — complete with an interview with Milanese singer and producer Gala during the very first edition of Milano Premier Padel: Freed from Desire’’. That’s the track where Paquito Navarro “plays” his racket like a guitar and gets the crowd dancing. But it doesn’t stop there: apparently Juan “El Lobo” Lebron has a soft spot for Attenti al Lupo by Lucio Dalla — the perfect song for his entrance at the Allianz Cloud, for obvious reasons. He’s also said to have enjoyed the pop-rock superhit — as they called it back in the ’80s — Lobo Hombre en París (‘The Wolfman in Paris’) by the band La Unión, which played during the Paris Major. After all, one of the lyrics goes: “La luna llena sobre París ha transformado en hombre…”
There are also songs dedicated to the players: ‘Joue-la comme Galán’ by musician Tom Pandore is dedicated to Ale Galán. DJ Carletto, on the other hand, is behind Paquito is on fire — the cheer for Navarro sung right here in Milan in past editions, to the tune of Freed from Desire.
And then come the padel playlists — a whole world of their own. Just browse Spotify or Amazon Music and you’ll find dozens of them, with titles that say it all: from Padel Motivation, perfect to listen to before a match, to Premier Padel 2025, dedicated to the top professional tour, featuring 122 tracks and over five and a half hours of music. There are Italian playlists too, like Padel fatto bene, Padella, and Officina Padel. And the songs? As many as you can imagine — some questionable, others surprisingly good, like ‘Padellen’, ‘Padel e Psicologia’, and the tellingly titled ‘Vado a Padel per rimorchiare’ (“I play padel to flirt”).
Then there are the evergreens that DJ Roberto Sciannamea — the music master on the Central Court at the Allianz Cloud — drops between matches and during side changes, calling the crowd to dance. The kind of tunes we’d once have called “classics”: from ‘Sarà perché ti amo’ by Ricchi e Poveri to ‘L’Amour Toujours’ by Gigi D’Agostino, plus more than one track by Bad Bunny — the reggaeton and Latin trap superstar whose songs dominate the playlists players use to get hyped before a match.
Finally, the “democratic” anthem of padel is ‘Isla Padel’ by Junior Cally, because it name-drops pretty much every big name in the sport: Paquito, Delfi Brea, Marta Ortega, Gemma Triay, Coello, Tapia, Momo González, Sanyo, Garrido, Chingotto, Lebron, Stupa, Di Nenno, Galán, Bela, and Ari Sánchez — a dream team of champions. Except for Bela, who retired right here in Milan last year, they’re all still stars of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel.
