Off court, they look like any girls their age: young, in jeans and sneakers, smartphone in hand and earbuds in their ears. But the moment they step on court, you can tell — there’s fire inside them, the kind that belongs to those who dream big. From Martina Calvo to Claudia Fernandez, from Ale Alonso to Raquel Eugenio, the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 is showcasing a long list of Under 20 top players who are rewriting the genetic code of women’s padel.
The rise of the NextGen girls is moving fast — and some have already made it to the top. Just look at Claudia Fernandez, who in 2024 — at just 18 years old — won the Women’s World Championship and several of the most prestigious Premier Padel titles, including the Milano P1, alongside the current world No.1 Gemma Triay. This year, Claudia kept winning with her new partner Bea Gonzalez, taking the P2 in Asunción and the P1 events in Málaga and Madrid. She’s now ranked fifth in the world.
From one 18-year-old to another even younger talent — just 17 — the revelation of the season. Martina Calvo became the youngest player ever to reach a Premier Padel semifinal, in Buenos Aires, at only 16 years and 329 days. Since then, she’s made four more (Valladolid, Malaga, Madrid and Rotterdam), confirming an incredible and lightning-fast rise. Martina is now paired with one of the legends of women’s padel, Ale Salazar, with whom she aims to reach new heights in Milan. The list of “fearless girls” continues with two other Under 20s who already lit up Milan last year: 18-year-old Andrea Ustero — now playing with Portugal’s Araujo — and 19-year-old Ale Alonso, teaming up with Claudia Jensen, who at the 2024 Milano P1 clinched the decisive points to qualify for the Premier Padel Finals.
And just behind this leading pack of juniors comes another wave of emerging talent eager to make their mark in Milan: Raquel Eugenio, born in 2008, already a standout on the CUPRA FIP Tour — the other international circuit run by the FIP — and recently a quarterfinalist at the Madrid P1. Then there are Noemi Aguilar and Marta Arellano, both born in 2006, and finally Agueda Perez (2007), who already lifted a trophy in Italy this summer, winning the FIP Silver Mediolanum Padel Cup in Treviso.
