Dominguez Azzurro symphony, in the second round is the ‘guitar’ of Paquito and Pablo Cardona

Awaiting the big derby between Marco Cassetta (paired with Spanish Miguel Angel Solbes) and the pair formed by Riccardo Sinicropi and Lorenzo Di Giovanni, the first Italian smile at the Milano Premier Padel P1 is that of Facundo Dominguez. Paired with Argentinean Nacho Piotto, Dominguez beat Alvaro Melendez and Cristian Gutierrez 7-5 6-4 and, in the second round, will face Pablo Cardona and Paquito Navarro, the number 5 seed on the draw.

Nothing to do, however, for the other Italians involved in the day 1 at the Allianz Cloud: Aris Patiniotis, who like Dominguez was part of the Italian expedition to the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha, paired with Spaniard Jesus Moya was beaten 6-3 6-4 by Luis Hernandez and Javi Rico. Also out were Simone Cremona, who with Spanish Jaime Fermosell lost 7-5 6-1 to Spanish Emilio Sanchez Chamero and Chilean Javi Valdes, and Denis Perino, who had made it through the qualifiers but with Spanish Jorge Ruiz was defeated in two sets (6-3 7-6) by Alvaro Cepero and Miguel Benitez.
