Dec. 9 – Lucas Bergamini and Victor Ruiz are the first semifinalists of Milano Premier Padel P1 2022. In today’s opening match, the Brazilian and the Spaniard defeated Argentinians Maxi Sanchez and Luciano Capra 6-4 6-2 in one hour and 26′. Bergamini and Ruiz, thirteenth seed of the tournament, who had eliminated Stupaczuk and Lima in the round of 16, now await the winner of Chingotto/Garrido vs. Navarro/Tello, the second match on the Allianz Cloud’s Central court. In the first game of the match already, Bergamini and Ruiz had two break points to bring the match immediately to their side; however, the stretch came in the seventh game, with Lucas and Victor able to conclude the set by recovering from a 0-30 disadvantage before closing with a stunning shot off the wall by Ruiz, who found an almost impossible angle. The other decisive break for Bergamini and Ruiz’s victory came in the fifth game of the second set: no chance for Sanchez and Capra to recover from it, indeed, double break lead, and the match ended soon after to the applause of the Milanese audience.
