The show begins at Allianz Cloud with an all-Italian derby Dal Pozzo and Baldi are also taking the court for a spot in the main draw.

The stage is set at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, with action kicking off at 10:00 AM. The long-awaited men’s main draw of the Milano Premier Padel P1 is finally here. The first round promises excitement, including an afternoon highlight: an all-Italian derby on the central court. Marco Cassetta and Miguel Angel Solbes will face the Italian duo Lorenzo Di Giovanni and Riccardo Sinicropi in the fifth match of the day. This encounter echoes their 2022 clash, when Cassetta—then paired with Simone Cremona—prevailed over Di Giovanni with a 6-3, 6-3 victory. Simone Cremona is also competing in this year’s main draw, partnering with Spaniard Jaime Fermosell. Their first-round opponents are Emilio Sanchez Chamero (Spain) and Javi Valdes (Chile).

Other Italian players who starred at the Doha World Cup are also set to take the court. Aris Patiniotis, teaming up with Jesus Moya, will play against Hernandez/Rico, while Facundo Dominguez and Ignacio Piotto will face Alvaro Melendez/Gutierrez.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the performance of Miguel Lamperti, a beloved figure among Milan spectators. Lamperti, alongside Dani Santigosa, will challenge Victor and Javier Ruiz. Additionally, Denis Perino, paired with Jorge Ruiz, has secured a spot in the main draw after a hard-fought three-set victory (3-6, 6-1, 6-0) over Geens/Rubini.

It was a bittersweet second qualifying round for the remaining Italian pairs. Giulio Graziotti and Flavio Abbate fell in straight sets (6-3, 6-2) to Spaniards Ramirez/Huete, while Simone Iacovino and Michele Bruno were defeated 6-4, 6-2 by Pedro Melendez/Marti.

Tomorrow, attention turns to the women’s draw, with the decisive second round of qualifiers determining who advances to the main draw, which begins Tuesday. Italian players Giulia Dal Pozzo and Caterina Baldi, fresh from their victory over padel legend Carolina Navarro (who partnered with Montes), will return to the court against Arellano/Lujan, dreaming of making it to the main event.
