Milan, November 20th 2024 – ‘Let the show begin’, with the best players on the planet, the reigning world champions, the sprint in the FIP Race for a place in the Finals in Barcelona and the great show of the Allianz Cloud. The Milano Premier Padel P1, presented today at the Palazzo Reale, is the best that padel can offer to fans of the sport: from December 2nd to 8th, the extraordinary indoor atmosphere of the Allianz Cloud will stage the third edition of the tournament that has become a ‘Classic’ of the professional circuit governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI).
‘Let the show begin’ is the claim of Milano Premier Padel P1 2024. And never has the ‘intro’ been more fitting to present a great competitive and sporting show, because it will – literally – be a show every day, with the great male and female stars of a discipline, padel, that continues to be a success everywhere, thanks to a great professional circuit that has 24 world-class tournaments – Finals included – but also to a formidable base of 30 million practitioners in the five continents. All this, by virtue of a growth that, in terms of speed and propagation, has no equal in the history of the sport. And the anticipation, as witnessed by the pre-sale of the tickets for the Allianz Cloud event, is burning in the city that already in 2022 and then in the 2023 edition has shown that it has deeply ‘fallen in love’ with the event and with this spectacular, technical, enthralling sport.
THE PROTAGONISTS It will start from last year’s more than 30,000 spectators, and from a men’s final that has rightfully entered the history of padel: the one won 7-6 6-7 7-6 by Juan Lebron and Ale Galan at the end of an incredible battle with Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno. This year, Galan is paired with Argentinean Federico Chingotto, and with the ‘pareja’ formed by Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, he’s the protagonist of an endless challenge that in Milano could live another chapter. Chingotto and Tapia, by the way, recently became world champions in the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha with the Argentine national team, and with them also Stupaczuk, Di Nenno, Chozas, Augsburger, Libaak and legend Sanyo Gutierrez. A legend like another Argentinean, Fernando Belasteguin, who in Milan will play his last professional tournament of an extraordinary career that has crowned him as the athlete with the highest number of trophies won in the history of this sport.

At the Allianz Cloud they will all be there, as will Spain’s female world champions: from Paula Josemaria to Ari Sanchez, from Gemma Triay to Claudia Fernandez, to Ale Salazar, Jessica Castelló, Marta Ortega and Bea Gonzalez, the latter a champion in the Milano Premier Padel P1 2023 paired with Delfi Brea of Argentina. The one in Milano will be the third event in Italy of a circuit that since 2024 has become the only world tour of padel (with 24 tournaments in 16 different countries), after the Major in Roma and the P2 in Genova, and will be broadcast in over 200 countries, with Milan therefore once again in the spotlight for a major international event. And on the court there will also be many of the Azzurri protagonists of the FIP World Padel Championships in Doha: the women’s team (including Carolina Orsi, Chiara Pappacena and Giorgia Marchetti) won the bronze medal, while the men’s team won a historic semifinal and an equally historic fourth place. There will be 48 pairs at the start of the men’s draw, with the 16 seeded players entering the scene from the second round; 32, instead, those at the start of the women’s main draw. The two main draw tables will be drawn on Saturday 30 November.

ROAD TO FINALS But the Milano Premier Padel P1 will also be one of the last opportunities to qualify for the Premier Padel Finals, scheduled in Barcelona from December 19th to 22th. The top 16 players in the FIP Race (the men’s one is available at this link https://www.padelfip.com/race-fip-top-100-male/, the women’s one at this link http://www.padelfip.com/race-fip-top-100-female/) will in fact be on court in Spain for the final act of the season, and the one at the Allianz Cloud will be one of the last tournaments to earn points towards the Finals.
THE INSTITUTIONS The Milano Premier Padel P1 can count on the support of the Minister for Sport and Youths, Andrea Abodi, with the contribution of the Regione Lombardia and the patronage of the Municipality of Milan.

THE STATEMENTS
Martina Riva, Councillor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies of the City of Milan: “For the third year in a row, Milan is ready to welcome the world’s biggest padel stars to the Allianz Cloud, once again confirming itself as the capital of international sport. It will be a week of show, excitement and competitiveness that will draw thousands of fans from all over the world and in which we will celebrate not only sporting excellence, but also the values of inclusion, sustainability and passion that sport represents. Padel is a global phenomenon, and the success of previous editions of Milano Premier Padel demonstrates our city’s enthusiasm and love for this discipline. In the path of preparation leading to Milano-Cortina 2026, with this event we want to confirm the city’s commitment to a model of responsible and engaging sport and the desire to be a protagonist in the international chessboard of major sporting events”.

Federica Picchi, Undersecretary for Youth and Sports of the Regione Lombardia: “The event presented today celebrates a growing sport that also becomes an opportunity to meet. Padel is a game that brings people together, involving both athletes and the public, creating a unique atmosphere of challenge and shared joy. The Milan edition of 2023 demonstrated how much this sport is winning everyone’s heart, with 30,000 spectators attending an event that was both exciting and engaging. I encourage everyone to experience this event with the spirit of those who know that, in addition to competition, there are profound values to be transmitted: respect, determination, and the ability to have fun and excitement together. Let this be an opportunity to discover new talent, to celebrate fair play, and to remember that sport, like padel, is an extraordinary tool for unity and growth. I wish all participants and spectators an exciting competition, full of spectacular shots and unforgettable emotions”.

Luigi Carraro, President International Padel Federation: “Thanks to the tenacity of Martina Riva, the name ‘Milano’ is within the name of the tournament, because of the global exposure that the city of Milan will have with this event. An event that gets better and better and that this year will have a novelty, because it will be the last one in the Premier Padel circuit before the Barcelona Finals and the last of a legend like Fernando Belasteguin. Milan has earned this very important role: it is the last Premier tournament of the season and it’s played in a jewel like the Allianz Cloud that has something magical about it, in an extraordinary week, just a few days before Christmas. The players we live daily know this and can’t wait to come to Milan. We are ready for another great extraordinary edition: if in the first two years we experienced unique emotions, let’s get ready for something even more spectacular”.

Marzio Perrelli, Executive Vice President Sport of Sky Italia: “We are happy to give more and more visibility to a widespread and popular sport such as padel, which on this occasion can count on a double showcase, that of Milano and Sky. We have always been close to padel and have contributed in a decisive way to its growth. The Premier Padel circuit finds ample space within our rich sports offer. We are happy to support and add value to this movement”.
Alessandro Fontana, Business Director NSA Group: “Milano’s response to Premier Padel P1 has been fantastic in the first two editions, with the wall of 30,000 spectators exceeded in the 2023 edition. The enthusiasm of the public and the support and quality of the sponsors represent the lintel of a sporting event and determine its success, two elements that have clearly marked this tournament in the last two years. Without forgetting for a minute that the exploits of the great champions of an event like this are a trigger for passion and emulation, an example that motivates anyone who wants to play sports to hold a racket and the younger ones to choose padel competitively. This for us is a great responsibility that fills us with pride and we take it on with the passion and desire that has brought success to the Milano Premier Padel P1, one of the most important tournaments on the circuit, which is particularly appreciated by the players and players”.
