Italian wild cards Giulio Graziotti and Riccardo Sinicropi were beaten 6-3 6-4 in an hour and 22 minutes by Spanish Pablo Lijo – world number 41 – and Alvaro Cepero, number 51, in their second match at the Allianz Cloud. Two breaks, one per set, were decisive for Lijo/Cepero, with the two Italians nevertheless leaving to the cheers and compliments of their opponents. For the Spaniards, tomorrow (second match on the Central), the duel against Momo Gonzalez and Javi Garrido, the number 7 seed in Milano Premier Padel.
Italian-Argentinian Denis Perino, paired with Spaniard Jorge Ruiz, on the other hand, made it through the first round, beating brothers Pedro and Alvaro Melendez 6-2 6-1. In the second round they will face Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz, the number 10 seed. Also successful in the morning were Cruz Belluati/Ayats (6-2 6-1 to Garcia Rodrigo/Ramirez), Mendez/Rico (double 6-4 over Valdes/Sanchez) and Cardona/Ruiz (6-3 6-4 to Icardo/Moya), with the latter earning the second-round duel against Ale Galan and Juan Lebron.
