Fifty-nine minutes. That’s how long the debut at the Milano Premier Padel P1 lasted for Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez. The defending champions (they won in 2023 in the final over Ale Salazar and Sofia Araujo) beat Ana Catarina Nogueira and Laia Rodriguez 6-2 6-0, re-launching their ambitions in this edition of the last tournament of the year before the Barcelona Finals. It was not an easy year for Bea Gonzalez due to injuries, with Delfi instead continuing to play in pairs with other teammates. As soon as Gonzalez returned to the court, however, the pair reformed, and barring what happens in 2025 the number 3 seed wants to relive those moments at the Allianz Cloud. “Coming back here is special – said Delfi and Bea, who will find lucky losers Lara Arruabarrena and Julia Polo in the round of 16 –. And of course we will try to win again”.
To do this, Brea and Gonzalez will have to overcome competitors, with several signals thrown up in the morning by rival pairs: Ale Salazar and Jessica Castelló (6-1 7-6 to Velasco/Canovas), and like them, Lucia Sainz and Patty Llaguno (6-3 6-3 to Talavan/Bidahorria), Aranzazu Osoro and Veronica Virseda (7-5 6-1 to Ruiz Soto/Goenaga), but also Ale Alonso and Andrea Ustero, whose 6-1 6-0 win over Martinez/Collombon continues to boost (valid discourse for Alonso, since Ustero is already qualified) hopes of securing the last place for the Barcelona Finals. A fight that involves, in addition to Alonso, the ‘Vikinga’ Osoro and Tamara Icardo.
