Like a year ago, Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez will play the final of the Milano Premier Padel P1. In the week of her 25th birthday, complete with a cake on the court, the Argentinean can therefore give herself a present and also give it to her ‘historical’ partner from whom she had been forced to part due to the Spanish player’s injuries. Against Ale Alonso and Andrea Ustero, in the first semi-final of the women’s draw, there was no history, with Delfi and Bea winning 6-0 6-2 in one hour and 10 minutes. Alonso and Ustero, down 3-0 in the second set, had managed to recover a break before losing serve again at 4-2: a stretch, that of the defending champions, which effectively decided the match.
“It’s incredible to be in the final again – said Delfi –. I have all my family here, see you tomorrow!”. For Bea, however, another final after the one she won in Dubai since returning from injury: “Injuries have many negative aspects but they allow you to appreciate the smaller things in life. We will try to close both the tournament and the Finals in the best possible way”.
For Ale Alonso, therefore, the fate in the Premier Padel Finals hangs on the outcome of the other semi-final, scheduled not before 6 p.m. between Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez opposing Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen. In case of a win for Gemma and Claudia, Alonso would be the 16th and final qualifier for the Finals; in case of a win for Tamara and Claudia, it would be Icardo who would overtake them, earning a place at the Palau Sant Jordi.
