Perino and Dominguez secure main draw Spots. Baldi-Aima to contest the final qualifying round

The Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 continues at the Allianz Cloud. In the final round of the men’s qualifying competition, held at Get Fit, Italian players Denis Perino and Facu Dominguez secured their places in the main draw, defeating Ferran Insa and Iago Fuertes in a decisive match that lasted almost three hours (6-4, 6-7, 6-1). Their next opponents will be Jose Solano Marmolejo and Ramiro Pereyra, who defeated the all-Italian pairing of Giuseppe Fino and Lorenzo Di Giovanni in straight sets (7-6, 6-3). Perino and Dominguez join Italian players Marco Cassetta, Alvaro Montiel, Flavio Abbate, Simone Iacovino, Aris Patiniotis and Enzo Jensen in the main draw. Manuel Aragon and Albert Roglan Pons also qualified for the main draw, beating Bubu Salandro and Emiliano Iriart 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Also in the spotlight was Argentine legend and former world number one Maxi Sanchez, who secured a place in the round of 32. Partnering Lucho Capra, he defeated Thomas Leygue and Jesus Moya in a third-set tie-break after two and a half hours of play (3-6, 6-2, 7-6). Awaiting them are rising talent Coquito Zamora and his partner Nacho Vilariño.

The men’s main draw begins on Monday at 9 am, while the women’s qualifying competition is still under way, with four places remaining. One of the available spots will go to the winners of the match between Italian pair Caterina Baldi and Clarissa Aima, who were called up to the World Championships in Doha just a few days ago, and Spanish pair Camila Fassio and Amanda Lopez. The latter defeated Italy’s Martina Parmigiani, who was also selected for the Italian national team, and Germany’s Victoria Kurz (5-7, 6-4, 6-4). After beating Carlotta Casali and Nerea Guerra in the first qualifying round, Lorena Vano, who grew up in Malaga but was born in Caserta to an Italian father and a Spanish mother, will join forces with Carmen Castillon to face Marta Borrero and Teresa Navarro. The four women’s matches are scheduled for Monday from 12 pm at Get Fit.
