Carraro: \u201cA global sport in continuous expansion\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the day the world\u2019s top padel players make their debut at the Allianz Cloud, where the <strong>Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1<\/strong> runs until Sunday, the <strong>International Padel Federation<\/strong> (FIP) has published the 2026 edition of the FIP World Padel Report (available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.padelfip.com\">www.padelfip.com<\/a>), the global study that summarises the evolution of padel and provides an in-depth analysis of every aspect of the sport. One of this year\u2019s new features is World Padel Impact, produced in collaboration with <strong>OpenEconomics<\/strong>, which examines the economic impact generated by padel in different countries through five key parameters: court rental value, construction of padel facilities, technical equipment, tournaments and total expenditure by country. The study shows that padel generates <strong>\u20ac8.6 billion<\/strong> in GDP, with every euro spent on padel contributing \u20ac1.26 to GDP. Annual spending generated by the global padel industry amounts to <strong>\u20ac6.84 billion,<\/strong> with <strong>\u20ac13.07 billion<\/strong> in economic output and more than <strong>235,000 jobs.<\/strong> In addition, the number of active players worldwide has surpassed 40 million, while the number of courts has grown by <strong>more than 20%<\/strong>, reaching a total of over 91,000 \u2014 14,000 more than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOnce again, the FIP World Padel Report 2026 gives us a picture of a sport in full and continuous expansion\u201d,<\/em> explained FIP President <strong>Luigi Carraro <\/strong>-.<em> The number of male and female players, clubs and courts is increasing, as is the number of countries where our sport is played and National Federations supporting its development. The recreational side of the game, which represents the extraordinary foundation of our movement, continues to grow, while professional padel is also expanding, becoming increasingly international and competitive and reaching new audiences and markets. A fundamental bridge connects these two dimensions: young people and new talent. Investing in the next generations means building the future of padel.
