After the first half hour, and a first set dominated by Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 final seemed all but decided. But what makes padel such a magical sport is its unpredictability: it only takes a moment for everything to change. The pair that has ruled the world for the past two years suffered the first 6–0 loss of their entire Premier Padel career. “You’re so handsome!” shouts a fan to Ale Galán from the stands of the Allianz Cloud as the final nears its end: but for him and Fede Chingotto, the most beautiful thing of all is playing in Italy. The 2-6 6-3 6-0 victory, their sixth title of the season and second in the last three tournaments (after Düsseldorf two weeks ago), confirms their incredible connection with the country. Of the five Premier Padel tournaments they have played together in Italy (Rome, Genova, and Milano 2024; Rome and Milano 2025), Fede and Ale have won four. The only one missing had been Milan, where Galán had already lifted the trophy in 2022 and 2023 with Juan Lebrón.

In a packed arena, the world No. 1s were the first to break away in the third game, doubling the advantage to go up 4-1 and sealing the first set 6-2. But a break for Chingotto and Galán in the second game of the second set reopened the final. The No. 2 seeds held their lead firmly and forced a deciding set. Another break in the opening game of the third set gave the match a new spark, with Chingotto and Galán taking full control. A second break pushed them to 3-0, and after saving four potential break points, they soared to 4-0. The gap widened further with a third break and with a 6-0, something Coello and Tapia had never suffered before on the Premier Padel tour, surpassing even the three 6–1 sets they had previously lost — all, notably, against Chingotto and Galán, and all in Italy.

“We have a special feeling with Italy, and winning this tournament in Milan is very emotional – said Galán –. Since we arrived, we felt we could do something great, and we’re proud to have done it in front of such an amazing crowd. Thank you all for your support, it’s always wonderful to play here”. “I don’t know what it is about Italy, but it’s always special to win here, thank you all for the love and support – added Chingotto –. I want to congratulate Agus and Arturo: they’re incredible opponents who push us to our physical and mental limits; they’re an amazing team. What changed in the second set? We had to demand more from ourselves, but I have the best partner beside me, and he trusts me”.

“I play at the net and on the volley”. In tennis, Adriano Panatta spent a lifetime choosing to attack, and that’s why his style hasn’t changed. At the Allianz Cloud for the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 finals, Panatta today watched top-level padel for the very first time. “I’m intrigued by the movements”, he explained. “The funniest thing for us tennis players is that when the ball goes past you, in tennis you’re done, the point is over. But here, the rally starts again”.

Two different sports, yet with some points in common: “Yes, especially the volley. It’s very similar. But using the walls really makes a difference”. At 75 years old, Panatta still has fun, both as a commentator on La Domenica Sportiva and on the courts of his own club, the Adriano Panatta Racquet Club in Treviso: “I really enjoy myself, even if it annoys me when they lob over me (he laughs), and it happens often because I don’t move like I used to, but I still have fun”.

If tennis can be played alone, padel is played in pairs , and who better as a partner than Paolo Bertolucci? The jokes between the two champions are famous: “He doesn’t even play billiards anymore. I see him now sitting in the evening in front of the TV, watching soap operas and sipping hot broth”. Sara Errani has already made her debut on the professional padel circuit, but “nowadays there are very few players who really know how to play well at the net”, Panatta concluded. “Guys like McEnroe, Becker, Noah, or Edberg, they’d be great at it.”

The number of spectators keeps growing — from 27.000 at the first edition to more than 35.000 in 2025. In just four years, that’s a 31.3% increase. As tournament organizer Marco Gamberale, CEO of NSA Group, pointed out: “It’s great to see a full house over the weekend, but what really stands out is the strong rise in attendance during the weekdays.”

A real boom on every front — website, social media, and media coverage: +76% unique users on the official tournament and International Padel Federation websites, and +371% page views from 156 countries (+20% compared to 2024). Social engagement also jumped +40%.

The world’s top male and female players lit up the Center Court, while the stands of the Allianz Cloud turned into a festival of colors, energy, and passion. Milan has truly become one of the global capitals of padel. Between thrilling rallies, selfies, autographs, and a bit of shopping in the venue’s fan area, spectators showed how deeply the city has embraced the sport. The figures tell the story: the fourth edition of Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 smashed through the 35.000 mark, with 35.473 fans attending throughout the week — a 10.2% increase over 2024 (32,180 spectators) and 31.3% up compared to 2022, when the Premier Padel Tour made its Milan debut with 27,000 fans.

Attendance grew across the board — not just on finals weekend. After the weekend surge seen in the first two editions, 2024 already showed strong numbers throughout the week, and 2025 accelerated that trend. “This year the pattern was very clear,” says Marco Gamberale, CEO of NSA Group, the tournament organizer. “Attendance was strong from Wednesday through Friday, and really solid across the whole week. That means the event has become part of Milan’s sporting culture — and people are even traveling from across Italy to be here. The new calendar slot certainly helped, with great weather and atmosphere, but ultimately, it’s the quality of the players and the show they deliver that make the difference.” That energy was felt everywhere — from ticket sales to food, drinks, and sports shopping.

FANS, VIPS, AND PLAYERS One of the tournament’s great strengths, once again, was the close connection between players and fans. Beyond the meet & greets organized by sponsors, the traditional “yellow ball ritual” — with players signing balls and giant yellow “autograph balls” — captured the spirit of padel’s growing popularity, especially among younger fans. The smiles and spontaneous moments between matches have become one of this edition’s most iconic images. Everything ran even smoother thanks to the tournament’s app and official website — the first in the circuit to feature both — which provided live match coverage and real-time updates for fans.

After losing the final at the P1 in Rotterdam and last year’s final at the Allianz Cloud, Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan are ready to take revenge on Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia.
The Chingalan team beat Di Nenno and Augsburger in today’s second semifinal of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 by 7-6, 6-4, coming back from a break down in the first set and saving two break points at the start of the second.

“Tomorrow we’ll give our best,” said Ale. “We want to win the title. Tonight we were behind, but we reacted well. We know many pairs want to beat us, and it’s not easy to stay at this level every week, especially with opponents like these.” Chingotto added: “It was a very tough match mentally. Martin made me suffer, it was a great match and I want to congratulate both him and Augsburger.”

Fede and Ale are not just looking for revenge — they’re also aiming for another title in Italy after winning this year’s Major in Rome, one of only two titles they’ve taken in 2025 (the other in Dusseldorf).

So the final will be the most awaited one, the matchup that has dominated almost the entire season — the two strongest pairs in the world facing each other again. The match is scheduled for tomorrow, not before 6:00 p.m., while in the women’s draw Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria will fight for the title against Bea Gonzalez and Claudia Fernandez at 4:30 p.m. The Allianz Cloud is ready to deliver another day full of excitement and showtime.

Unstoppable. With a 6-4 6-3 win over Juan Lebron and Franco Stupaczuk in one hour and 17’, Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia secured both their 11th consecutive final and the chance to claim their 11th title of the season on the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour. There was nothing the No. 3 seeds could do against the dominance of Arturito and Agus, who will have the opportunity tomorrow – not before 6 p.m. – to defend the title they won last year at the Allianz Cloud. The match that thrilled the Milan crowd was decided by just a few key points: the decisive break in the first set came in the fifth game, when Coello and Tapia – after a penalty point given to Lebron for his reaction to an accidental shot from Tapia – earned two set points at 5-3 on their opponents’ serve, closing out the set shortly after. In the seventh game of the second set came another decisive break from the world No. 1s, who began their remarkable run of consecutive finals right after losing a semifinal to El Lobo and Stupa in Miami.

“Tapia is the most complete player in history – said Coello –. He’s got the physique, the technique, he’s strong in defense, but it’s the mental aspect that makes the difference. I try to learn as much as I can from him and to give him a hand”. Agustin then spoke about the incident with the accidental shot that hit Lebron: “I’d like to apologize to him, of course I didn’t hit him on purpose. It was a moment of tension, and our coach (Gustavo Pratto, ed.) managed to keep us calm and help us get back into the match. That’s what makes us strong and helps us”.

The match between his friend “Agus” Tapia and Arturito Coello against Lebrón–Stupa had just started when Paulo Dybala, together with his wife Oriana Sabatini, arrived at the Allianz Cloud to enjoy the first men’s semifinal of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1. Smiling and relaxed, Dybala looked completely up to date and full of passion for the pala: “Yeah, I knew the score, I was watching the match on my phone while we were on our way here.” His walk through the players’ tunnel with Alessandro Fontana, Communication & Marketing Project Manager at NSA Group – the tournament organizer – turned into a chance encounter with world number three Paula Josemaría, who had just reached the final with Ari Sánchez. Paulo and Oriana stopped to chat, asked a few questions, exchanged smiles with Paulita, and wished her good luck for tomorrow’s final.

As Dybala stepped onto the Central Court from the players’ entrance, a wave of murmurs spread through the stands: “That’s Paulo!”, quickly turning into a roar. The AS Roma star greeted Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation, and Marco Gamberale, CEO of NSA Group, before sharing a warm hug with another former Juventus player, Claudio Marchisio, also at the Allianz Cloud.

Then came the match, and the memory of last year’s viral moment, when Tapia ran into the stands after winning the final, carrying two rackets, and handed one to Paulo and another to Leandro Paredes. In return, the Argentine pair gave him their national team and Roma shirts — a photo that went all over social media. A year later, we asked Paulo if he’s ever used that racket.

“Of course! I definitely did. I don’t get to play much, only during holidays, but yeah, I’ve played with it”. And how did it go? Any Tapia magic in his hands? The Roma forward laughs and plays along: “Let’s just say… not much changed even with his racket. So I guess there’s not much hope for me!”
